First Choice Power Complaint - Uses Estimated Billing To Screw Their Customers! - Electric Service
Electric Service - Complaint
Review by AngryCustomer on 2008-08-18
PLANO, TEXAS -- My 12 month contract with FirstChoicePower expired on 7/3/2008. For those 12 months, I was locked in at a rate of 12.9 cents per kwh. The last month of this pricing (6/4/2008 - 7/3/2008), they estimated my electric usage at 1033kwh (previous month usage was 1034kwh and it said Estimated on the bill). Then, the following month when my rate went up to 24.3 cents per kwh they dumped the actual June usage and the July usage together onto my July bill at the new rate and I received a $849.88 electric bill, up from $137.50 the previous month. I have contacted FirstChoicePower 5 times now regarding this and they refuse to do anything to make it right.
Now they are claiming that Oncor did do an actual reading on 7/3, but this is patently ridiculous. My May bill shows 1034 kwh of usage and my June bill shows 1033 kwh. This is clearly estimated and it says so right on the bill!
