Conair Corporation Informative - Repairs Under Warranty
We purchased a refurbished Cuisinart Club Blender/Food Processor from Overstock.com (no complaints about them; they're great), but had problems with motor sound and smell. The conditions of the 90-day refurb warranty posted on the cover of the handbook state to return a defective product to the manufacturer and not to the place of purchase. Despite our reservations, we called Conair/Cuisinart and they authorized a return for repair. More than a month later, we received a bill for repairs and shipping which we would be required to pay before we could get the blender back. My husband called the Conair/Cuisinart number on the cover letter with the bill, but the repair administrator was not helpful at all, and was downright rude. Apparently the 90-day warranty is up the second you open the box! We called Overstock and they were as appalled as we and offered to credit our card to cover the expense.
Next I called the number given us in the cover letter from Conair to authorize the charge to our credit card for the repairs. I was told, rudely, that they don't authorize charges over the phone. I told him the letter we received said they did, and again he said, rudely, that they don't. No explanation, no nothing!
We have always been happy with our Conair/Cuisinart products but will never purchase another, and will bad-mouth the company to anyone who will listen!
