Vectren Corporation Complaint - Damage To Computer Caused By Power Outage/Surge From Explosion Of Underground Wiring
EVANSVILLE, INDIANA -- Late in the night, a loud boom went through the air outside my sons apartment and at the same time, the electricity in several complexes went out (including my sons building) and the (my) computer in which my son is using for college along with the surge protector and external router all were destroyed or damaged by the explosion. This explosion was caused by the underground wiring that the electric company Vectren has and is using on the property of Stonehedge Apartments near King Arthur Court in Evansvill, IN. I called Vectren and spoke to a young man who said that he would forward my complaint to the complaint dept. and that someone would call me in a few days. Days and then weeks go by and after several mores calls to them, I nor my son hear nothing from the claims dept. to find out what actually had happened or to do any further follow-ups for their investigation (if they even did one).
We finally receive a letter in the mail denying our claim and instructs us to turn it into "OUR" insurance company. This company has a lot of these old underground wiring spots and according to the lady that I talked to on this issue, she said that they aren't going to change the way in which the wires are ran. Yet this is an on going problem for this Apartment complex and Vectren chooses to ignore the issue as they did with my complaint with their faulty wiring issues causing my PC damages.
If anyone else is having this same issues with this same electric company, please write to your utility board. Contact your Better Business Bureau and the local city officials. This is their problem and we shouldn't have to file a claim with our insurance company to get our appliances or computers fixed when they choose to ignore the truth. Your best defense is to talk to the people in the area about the complaints they have with their public service providers. You'll learn a lot in just a few question.
