Nationwide Flood Insurance Informative - They Take Advantage Of People In The Lowest Of Lows

Review by douglisa on 2008-08-19
DYERSVILLE, IOWA -- Our house was flooded, during a time when we are at a low in our lives this company has been horrible. Fema told us; "They got their money from you, they don't care...typical."

Our house flooded three months ago and all we get is a run around from them. There was a structural engineer that came 3 weeks ago and we are still waiting on the results. We called Justin, our adjuster and he said that he has nothing to do w/ it, that we have to contact Nationwide to get a copy of the engineer's report. GRRRR!!!! He works for Nationwide! He said we have to hurry to sign the proof of loss, yet all they are willing to pay is $7,000! When we have damages that are probably around $6,000 and a hot water heater, furnace, dumpster and service master to pay.....those things are over $3,000. But we do not know the cost of things till we get a contractor to look at the damage for an estimate, but we can not do that till we get the info from the engineer. They keep passing the buck, stalling, and giving us the run around. What a bunch of money grubbing jerks!

They take advantage of people in the lowest of lows. After this is all over we are going to look for another company.

Look into hiring a public adjuster. They get about 10% but probably would get all the funds you need to be whole and still cover their vig.
