Fox Rent A Car Complaint - Fox Rent A Car - San Jose Airport - The Endless Saga
SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- I booked an SUV thru their website. When I cam to pick it up they said they were oversold and offered me a sedan. I insisted I reserved an SUV because I needed one (and what's the point of a reservation if you can't hold it...). At that point, the local guy on duty got a routine call from his manager's manager - he explained to him the situation and the big boss told him to do "whatever he can to please the customer". His resolution was to send me over to the Dollar counter to rent a car - he promised FOX will reimburse me for the difference in price. I was content, rented a car from Dollar, and waited for Fox to reimburse my credit card. To my surprise, not only have they not done so, they also charged me for the SUV I booked and never got! I started calling, but no one at the San Jose office would pick up the phone, I left numerous messages, and then sent and email to their corporate customer service. A polite guy called me back and promised he'll take care of it.
A Month has passed and nothing. I pinged the corporate guy again, and he called back apologizing - he said "the guys in San Jose dropped the ball" and he'll take care of the reimbursement. It took another month and then I got a check, but to my surprise, it did not include reimbursement for the charge Fox made for the SUV I never got. I complained to VISA, they circled back with Fox, but the response they got from FOX is that I got the car, even though I didn't.
I can't take it anymore. I've been renting cars for years, dozens of times a year, and I never had such an experience with any car rental company.
I will never rent at Fox again.
