AOL Complaint - AOL Concerns
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- As a consumer from your state, I felt it was my responsibility to bring to your attention the following incident.
After more than a year of trouble free service with AOL I began having problems. I've been attempting to cancel service with AOL since September. I finally thought I had it cancelled 11/26. Since then I've received 2 letters from AOL confirming my continued use of their services and confirming the dollar amount I will be charged.
Each time I call AOL I get a different answer - and get quoted different processes. In researching AOL customer service on-line I'm finding that they routinely charge customers for products that were cancelled and fail to respond to customer complaints.
Are there any federal guidelines that this company follows or are we just out of luck when it comes to their business practices?
One of their recommendations was that if I want to be sure that there are not additional service charges, I should cancel my credit card. I find this extreme.
I've contacted all the customer service e-mail addresses and po boxes I could find with AOL - what other recourse do I have?
Are you aware of anything else I can do, short of cancelling the credit card, to remove myself from this AOL customer service hell?
