Roadhouse (Texas) Compliment - First Time - And I'll Be Back!!!

Review by broncobill on 2008-08-22
SIOUX CITY, IOWA -- Our Texas Roadhouse restaurant opened a week or so ago, so we decided to go check it out last night. We got there around 4:45 hoping to beat the crowd. The parking lot was already quite full, but we were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and super sweet. Our appetizers and drinks were promptly delivered.

We had a fairly large group, but we were all very satisfied with the service. And the FOOD - I had the pork loin chop (2 - 3 in. thick) with a zesty peppercorn sauce on the side - it was so juicy & tender - absolutely delicious. My side dishes were green beans (a little too much vinegar for my taste, but not bad) and a house salad which was almost a meal by itself with chopped egg, cheese, tomato and a nice honey mustard dressing.

Total cost of my meal with beverage: $11.00.

Very reasonable. Those in our group that had the steak said it was very tender & flavorful. When we left, there was a large crowd waiting to be seated. All of us went away very satisfied and anxious to return!!

We had one open near us in the past 6 months. We went once, walked out when people that came in after us were served and we didn't appear to have a server. Then we went again and the service was good and I liked the food. Why won't I go back? The pounding music - it was impossible to talk across the table to my companion and be heard. It was such a pleasure to finish and get out of the din. I know people like it, it is always packed, but for these poor old ears it is a painful experience. Nice post.

Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite places to eat out! Reasonable prices, good food! My son loves the chicken with honey mustard, husband likes anything that they put BBQ sauce on, and I love their Sirloin Steak, juicy and tender. I agree wholeheartedly with this post.

It's also my favorite. Among chain restaurants, I find them singularly consistent in great food and service. And the free bags of peanuts aint bad neither!

Did you know you can purchase their rolls, unbaked? When I don't have time to make rolls myself, I get these for a holiday or get together, including the cinnamon butter. Just pop them in the oven, and Mmmmmmm, they are wonderful! Mine, of course, are better - but these don't take 3 hours to prepare!

I'm a fan of any bar that has cold beer and peanut shells on the floor.
The ribs are pretty darn good too.

I'm not much of a diner-outer but I've always heard good things about Texas Roadhouse, I may have to try it this weekend. Thanks for the review and description of your meal - sounds delicious!

We have one here in Colorado Springs, and they are always busy, so we usually get take away. It is one of the few places in the Springs that we have found that makes fried catfish the way it should be, not to thick, with a nicely spiced batter, and enough for 2 meals with the potato and beans. The steaks are good too. I agree about the loud music, another reason for bringing it home.
