Empire Carpets Complaint - Don't Buy From Empire!
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- Following the installation of our bedroom carpet I noticed immediately that the carpet was not flush with the marble flooring it met up with. I very nearly cut my bare foot walking across the spot where carpet and marble came together.
I telephoned the local Orlando office and they said they would send an inspector. He came and then I received a call saying that there was nothing that Empire would do about the problem.
I took out my camera, took pictures of the obvious mess, and sent them to the main office of Empire. I finally received a call saying that the carpet would be repaired and it was... but only because I became the Wicked Witch of the West - the local guy wanted nothing to do with it.
And that, I thought, was the end of it. The carpet is nearly a year old and every time I vacuum the cleaner fills up with fluff! Carpet fluff! The actual carpet!! The paperwork we got with the carpet suggested this might happen in the beginning but it is still happening after one year. Lots and lots of fluff!!
In my opinion the quality of the carpet - sold to me as their "best" is inferior and it would be my advice not to buy from Empire. They really aren't even less expensive than other places. Go to your warehouse store or home improvement store when they are having a sale and you will beat Empire's prices---
The only reason to buy from them is speedy installation but if you can manage to wait the couple of weeks that other companies require you will have better carpet at a better price. I certainly wish I had.
