Camelback VW Informative - Poor Follow Through - 2008 VW Beetle

Review by itchy on 2008-08-22
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- I bought my Beetle from Camelback on July 27, 2008. I waited in the showroom for almost 2 hours just to get into the finance office to start the paperwork. While I was in there, I was told that they were going to wash the new car and fill up the gas tank. They did wash it but "forgot?" to fill it up. The salesman promised to send a gas card for $25.00 but I never got it so I called and was passed on to the internet department. Dan promised to send me $75.00 in gas card to make up for my inconvenience. He did send them after 2 weeks, but they are for a gas station in Phoenix. I live over 65 miles from Phoenix.

So I returned them. I keep getting apologies and promises, but absolutely no satisfaction. I love my new Beetle but won't be going back to Camelback.

once you turned the key, why didn't you say something right then? why did you drive away? i have made many new purchses, and waiting to get into the finance office is normal, specially if they have just one person doing it.

At today's gas prices, how convenient it was to forget to fill it up. $25 card he originally promised as a replacement for not filling it? Did he think he sold you a lawn mower?
