Beaverton Honda Complaint - Switching Cars - Honda Civic EX Sedan

Review by ForestDragon on 2008-08-23
BEAVERTON, OREGON -- Beaverton Honda switched while we were making a deal to buy a particular car. We drove a car then went into the salesman's office to negotiate a deal and while we were signing the agreement they switch cars to a similar car of the same color, make and model which had different features.

When we came out they claimed we had bought a different car than we were driving. Now they won't correct the damage that was done.

You forgot to tell us if you accepted getting ripped off by driving away in the wrong car or if you turned it back in. When you demo a car and you want to buy that car, ask the salesman to write the vin number of that vehicle on the back of his business card. That should tip off a dishonest dealer that the bait and switch game isn't going to happen with you.

To many missing pieces to this review.

Did you folks discuss a half dozen different cars? It has never occurred to me to check a VIN number against a contract or have that number written down anywhere. I agree with Super, there seems to be something missing here.

This post is cut and dry. They test drove a car, decided to buy that car, the corrupt dealer pulled a switch by having them sign a contract for a lesser car of the same model and color but with less options or features that they wanted, they signed it (not knowing that) and when they went out and got in the car, they discovered that it was not the same car they test drove. The dealer insisted it was. the only thing missing here is WHAT THEY DID ABOUT IT!

buyers have the responisiblity to check and verify what they are buying. only thing missing is the fact they failed to check what they signed, or were about to sign.
