Lube Express Complaint - Over Filling Crankcase And Transmission

Review by Jcman on 2008-08-24
CASPER, WYOMING -- I went to the Lube Express in Casper, WY on the Fifth of August for and oil change. Shortly after (about a day or so) My engine acquired a knocking noise and my fuel mileage slowly became worse. It got to the point where my car hesitates on start up and putting it in gear almost kills the engine. Being concerned about my only form of transportation I took my car to a mechanic friend with the receipt from Lube Express.

Well for one thing they put Lucas brand transmission conditioner in my crankcase. and also over filled the crankcase by about a quart or more. The receipt says they filled and checked all fluids but, my mechanic friend says the tranny is too full also. Anyway I've been averaging about 10 mile to the gallon on a 2001 Eclipse which is supposed to be getting almost 3 times that. I'm slight pissed of about it, I mean come on I know 10 year olds that say that is bad business.

TRUST NO ONE... Seriously, I trust no one to touch my vehicle and learn how to perform the maintenance myself.

Trust no one. Think you have been watching too many x-files reruns. Who will take out your appendix if it ruptures? Who will pull that bad tooth out? Who will defend you in court? I guess you will learn how to perform all of these things too. LOL.

You should take the vehicle back, with the receipt and the opinion of the issue written from the mechanic in hand, and give them the opportunity to correct the issue.
