Spirit Airlines Informative - Smooth Trip On Spirit Airlines But One Major Problem... Safety Of Plane?
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Coming back from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic on Spirit Airlines flight 784 I sat in Seat 20 F. The trip to the island was great and was hoping for the same on the way back. As we approached Ft. Lauderdale and the flaps came out I noticed something very worrying. The right wing middle flap was not bolted on it's left side. Which meant it bounced up and down during it's deployment for takeoff and landing.
I've been on many many flights and have never seen anything like this. As we took off to Chicago on our next flight I sat in the same seat and watched the same area of the flap and it was correct this time in being bolted on. Staff and "on-timeness" were fine but this is very concerning. I've searched for a contact # for Spirit Airlines to relay this info so perhaps they could correct this problem so nothing happens in the future with this plane, but reading a bunch of these reviews it will probably be next to impossible. If anyone can contact Spirit please do with this info. This is not a joke [solicitation snip]
