Airlines Informative - How to Cope with Airline Cutbacks

This is another excellent reason not to use third party agents and book direct with the airlines.

Travelocity e-mailed him with word that his flights were "no longer confirmed" -- a nice way of saying he had no reservations.

"Delta is claiming their codeshare partner changed the schedule and that they're under no obligation to offer us new travel dates, unless the partner airline has tickets with the exact same fare code?"

Good advice - double check your flight is going, know the rules of your ticket, book through a travel agent, and select a "safe" flight that is less likely to be cancelled.

I also suggest picking an airline that has a lot of service to your destination. If one airline has 4 flights a week, and another has double daily service it is pretty easy to figure out who will be more likely to reprotect you.
