UPS Complaint - My PDA/Cell Phone Was Taken!
RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA -- I ordered an expensive PDA/cell phone from a cellular company which was shipped to me via UPS. I needed it for the company I work for. The driver is a regular for our company and he delivered the package to me which was already torn. I didn't think anything of it since only the package was torn but not the cell box. The driver was a regular and I've never had a problem before. I did not sign for it. He just placed it in my hand and left. Once I got into the office and opened it, I noticed that the tape on the cell box was already cut open. Everything was in the box except THE CELL PHONE AND BATTERY!!
I automatically called the cellular company and they immediately filled out a claim to UPS. They apologized and said they would handle everything. But, when I called UPS to state what happened, they kept asking if it was lost or damaged??!! I made it clear that I believe that someone took it from the box and therefore it was stolen!! They would not acknowledge that and said I can just file a claim with my cellular company?? The representative was so non-chalant about the issue that I can't help but to believe that someone on their end may have taken the phone!! And now looking at all the complaints on this website, it looks like UPS has been doing some dishonest things to good people! I got the impression that they really don't seem to care about the issues at hand because they automatically tell me to file a claim like it's no big deal. And since I will get another phone from my cellular company, no harm no foul, right?? Well, wrong!!
I for one am disgusted with UPS and if one of their employees did take my cell phone that I have worked so hard for and have been saving up for months to get....then he or she should know that GOD is watching and what they did was very dishonest and a punk thing to do! And if UPS isn't going to investigate and find out what happened to the phone, then it shows them as dishonest and with no integrity. This company seems very uncaring and maybe they don't feel responsible. But, to me they are. They were the one delivering it so they should take the time to find out what happened to my cell phone. I called the cellular company and they went into detail on how the phones are shipped out to their customers. And judging from the conversation and the shipping information they gave me, it would be hard for an employee there to take a phone.
But UPS isn't even willing to do anything about what happened. Their answer is for me to file a claim, have a good day and bye-bye. Well, judging from how this has been handled so far, UPS doesn't look like the honest one. I hope UPS will look into the matter and find out what happened to the $500.00 PDA cell phone that seems to just have disappeared. And if they find out that it was one of their employees, then they need to resolve the situation so that it does not happen again to their customers who rely on them and trust them to deliver our packages to our homes and offices. Until this is resolved, my company will not be using UPS and we will not refer any of our clients or customers to UPS either.
I hope they take the time to resolve this issue because they haven't so far. Thank you.
