Verizon Complaint - Experience Worse Than I Expected
NEW YORK, NY -- I have been about one hour trying to cancel my Verizon land line service. First, they do their best to hide where you can call -- of course, they don't let you do it online. I finally reached someone who, after putting me thru the 3rd degree told me he couldn't cancel service but would switch me. I asked him to stay on the line and he said he would. Lo and behold, next thing I heard was silence. I held on for five minutes, trying to talk to the person who had promised to hold on but he was gone.
Hung up, started all over again with the recording, auto info gathering and long wait for a representative. They put you on the long line once you tell their computer you want to cancel. I finally reached someone who was the representative from HELL. I don't exaggerate when I say she was the rudest from her first words. At one point I asked a question and she responded by saying, "Turn up your hearing aid." I don't wear one, and the problem was not being unable to hear her, it was hearing her. At any rate we couldn't get by the "reason for cancellation part" then she said "Hold on." Line went blank again and I knew she had cut me off but I waited anyway.
Finally, I gave up and called again. This time I selected "Change Service" as an option instead of "Cancellation." This time the line was shorter and woman was actually pleasant. Of course, she said she couldn't help me with a cancellation but told me I had a cancellation order already pending. I was shocked as I told her I hadn't given the other person a date (next week). The woman said it was scheduled for today (the B____'s revenge, obviously). The new person said she would switch me over. I literally begged her not to get off the line (I had told her about my previous experiences) and she said she wouldn't. To my surprise she came back on line and said the wait time for cancellations was very long (surprise there, eh?) but that she had gotten permission to cancel my service for me. I gave her the date I wish it to be canceled and she said she did it.
We'll see. But at least she was nice. The other one should be fired but, of course, you have no way of identifying them to complain.
In summary VERIZON SUCKS!
