Maytag Corporation Complaint - Service
LAGUNA WOODS -- On Nov. 7 I called for service on my electric glass cooktop Was told a serviceman would be out on the 14th. Called on 13th to find out time serviceman would come. Was told part was not available.
Nov 14 serviceman came--did not know why. I was told I had to pay 104.95 service call so part could be ordered. Paid him and service man left.
5 minutes later got a call and was told part was in and to acll for an appointment. Called no one knew what I was talking about. Transferred me to "supervisor" who said he would check and call me back. Never did!!
I called customer service. Was told there was a part in Colorado. Was transferred to service "supervisor" was told she would expedite the part and I would have it by the following Friday. Friday called. Nobody knew anything about a part. Wrote a letter to Mr. Hake CEO. No response. Monday called customer service again. Was told the part was sent out on Nov. 18 and would arrive Nov. 23. Had to change all plans so that our family could have Thanksgiving together. My daughter in San Francisco volunteered. Gave her $200 to order the dinners in. We had to pay for transportation and hotels as well. Returned home Dec. 1 Called service. Part was in but could not be installed until Dec.9
Serviceman arrived. He had no part!! said part would have to ordered!! I went hysterical. Finally found a "supervisor" who said part was in Mira Loma (have no idea where that is) Continued to go banana's. Called customer service. Transferred to another "supervisor" who did call me back. Said part would be delivered on Friday December 12th and that I would be called between 5PM and 9PM as to what time part would be delivered. It is now 8:45PM PST and I have not heard a word. If part is not delivered tomorrow I will go out and buy a new stove--certainly not an AMANA or any Maytag product.. Never during this ordeal have I been able to speak to the same person twice although I have all names and times that I spoke to them recorded. In fact when I( ask for a person by name I am told that do not know who it is!!! I even spoke to someone supposedly named Randi in corporate office and when I tried to call her was told there was no one by that name. When I gave the exact time I called and date, I was told she we call back and give her right name, Never heard from anyone....
I have had Maytaag washers and dryers for over 50 years and have never had a service problem. I have had Amana refegerators and have always had excellent service. There is no reason for such incompetency or for ANY customer to have to go through what I have been through. Marilynn Handelman
