Spirit Airlines Complaint - Two Mistakes In Two Minutes Costs $170.00 In Fees
Yikes, be careful if using Spirit Airline online. I entered my Spirit number on their request when making a reservation for my husband. They proceeded in making the reservation in my name. So I end up with two reservations for myself on the same flight. (my husband was returning a different day). I called customer service immediatedly and was told I couldn't make a reservation for my husband using the Spirit $9.00 club.
I wasn't part of the Spirit club that I knew of, but why didn't they stop or ask the question before they allowed me to pay. That mistake cost me $90.00 and the $159.00 left from the flight was in voucher form and had to me used by me. SO now I still need a flight for my husband. I go online and create it WITHOUT the number, noticed I had to unclick several options so as not to receive $9.00 club fee, etc. This time I made a mistake in the return date. GROAN. That cost me $80.00. They now have $170.00 in fees in two minutes. I call again. NO HELP. I have made mistakes online with Northwest and other airlines.
They switch the names on the computer, THANK YOU! I am/was a loyal Spirit traveler for ten years. I am not happy with them. I had to pay for a seat on the plane for both of us because there were only what they called "better" seats available. I couldn't see what was so special about it. Aisle or Window, costs more now.
So forget your so-called savings. If you have two pieces of luggage and want to sit on the plane it will cost you about $50.00 more than the stated price online. Hello other airlines, I am joining the ranks of those never flying Spirit again.
