Erlanger Hospital - Down Town Chattanooga TN Complaint - Don't Think For A Moment You Have Rights To Service!!

Review by savelittlemack on 2008-09-02
CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE -- In June, 2008 a loved one had a very bad fall that landed him in Erlanger in Chattanooga TN, in the NICU. Comma, brain trauma, looking like he wouldn't make it. They had to take part of his skull out so the swelling wouldn't kill him.

He had no insurance. We did everything the hospital caseworker said. He got approved for state assistance. They sent him to the budget branch but he is too bad off to stay. Now because med. Asst. Won't cover the 1st 10 days, he is going to a nursing home to die even after speaking a few times, standing with help.

From a low grade ICU to a nursing home at 32. They refuse to keep him because of the bill for the 1st 10 days the rest is covered. Why kill him over a bill they won't even give him a chance to pay.

as i understand it, erlanger is a no pay hospital. if you have no ability to pay, they must care for you.

most times when patients are moved, it is because the hospital has done all they can.

the same thing has happened to my uncle from a cleveland hospital. once they could no longer make any improvements, he was moved to a long term care hospital.
