Toys R Us Compliment - Return Policy - Customer Service
WAYNE, NEW JERSEY -- To to be completely honest, it’s the customers who are trying to get away with stuff that make a huge scene in the store when they do not get their way. I have seen people blatantly lie. FIRST telling the customer service representative that the item was a gift and that was why they didn’t have a receipt, they just wanted store credit. When they are then told that the store cannot take anything back without a receipt suddenly the original receipt materializes. But surprise surprise, they bought the item at a sale price, or got the item free with something else. So if the store did the return without a receipt they would have gotten more back than they paid.
I have also seen customers make a HUGE scene saying that they JUST bought an item, lost the receipt and it came out of the box defective, and then after finding out we don’t take things back without a receipt they suddenly the receipt appears and its from 8 months back. Although from the customer point of view taking back this one item may not seem like a big deal, but there are a lot of customers that try to pull this kind of stuff. You should be responsible enough to be able to follow a return policy and read it on your own, and not rely on a store to read it to every customer and go out of their way to take every single thing back.
That would just be ridiculous, and heres something that may come as a surprise to a lot of people, but the customer is not always right, they’re just not.
