Linns Company Complaint - Huge Disappointment - Sony Vaio

WARREN, OHIO -- I just read a complaint from a teacher from Virginia and I wanted to add that the backlight of my screen went out and since my $1800 laptop computer was 2 years old and therefore not under warranty I had to PAY THEM $500 to just have them LOOK at my problem. $500 MINIMUM! I will Never by another Sony product again.

a $500.00 service charge is a little extreme (IMO) Did they apply any of the charge to the cost of the repair?
