Ashley Furniture Complaint - Ordered Wrong Set... Now 65 Days Later... Still Nothing!
ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- My wife and I bought a Bed, Mattress set and Table and Chair set at Ashley back in early July. When the delivery came, we found that the sales associate ordered the wrong table and chair set. When they re-ordered, they said it would be 10-14 days for delivery which would have put us at the end of July or early August. To date... no table. I have been hounding the Store Manager for the past two weeks who keeps telling me what I want to hear... "it's on the truck".
So... yesterday when I called the distribution center, they told me that it being "on the truck" means nothing because until they have enough merch to fill the truck, they won't deliver it. Pretty much... they told me I am at the mercy of people who live in 20 sq mile radius. Once they have enough furniture to completely fill a truck with deliveries in a 20 sq mile radius, they will deliver.
I have already made two payments on the $1200.00 table and chair set that is NOT in my house. Considering this was an error on the Sales Associates behalf, I would expect them to rectify the situation timely and professionally... neither of which have happened.
I will NEVER buy from Ashley again. We have bought roughly $6k worth of stuff from Ashley in the last 4 years... our whole house is pretty much Ashley furniture but when it comes time to buy again, I won't bother going back. Likewise, I have referred many friends and family to Ashley and will NEVER again refer somebody I care about because I wouldn't want anybody I know to have to deal with the same incompetence and B.S. I am dealing with.
It’s very disappointing because prior to this incident, we have ordered furniture on 3 separate occasions and NEVER had a problem… granted; we were in the Bay Area and bought from the Fremont store where they actually have people who seem to care about their customers.
The other EXTREMELY frustrating thing I have learned is that all stores are independently owned and operated so once you get to the top of the dog at any given store or group of stores, you are dead in the water because there is no corporate structure that provides resolution. I called the Ashley Consumer Affairs department who forwarded my complaint to the same incompetent individual I have been dealing with for weeks so that program/department is worthless in my eyes!
After reading through some of the comments I found online… seems like my problem is more common than rare.
