Springmall Auto Body Springfield VA Complaint - A True Nightmare - Autobody Repair

Review by My3centsWorks on 2008-09-07
SPRINGFIELD, VA OFF OF BACKLICK RD. -- After my new car was hit by someone else I took it to Springmall Auto Body located in Springfield, Va. Two weeks later I reviewed the car. Just horrible. Paint missing in the door cut ins (some up to 2 inches long), scratches on the window pillars, scratched new parts including dents, tons of paint over spray, a burger wrapper left on my passenger floor (I don't eat in my car), paint missing and bubbled on the door seems, installed the wrong door rubber seals, my TPMS was on, alignment was off, trunk alignment off, and paint blending was off.

So I took it elsewhere until the shop foreman called and told me he would personally guarantee the work. I agreed to them redo it. Big mistake.

This time, pick up the car and the TPMS is on, body rubber fender molding missing, overspray on the two tinted windows inside the car from paint, found missing paint along the rubber roof weather striping and along the edge where the metal meets the rear window, now after this weekend and the rainfall, I noticed my rear seat and floor boards were sopping wet from either a bad door seal or bad weld somewhere as a result of their "craftsmanship." Might I add I only have 6K on the new 2008 car!

On closer inspection of my car I noticed that the edges of the new paint job are beginning to peal and also appear not to be smooth; it has ridges. Also found paint on my rear window edge which I can scratch off with my finger. A few locations are beginning to shed paint. I have not even had the car a month since its last re-repair. In addition, the wind noise has dramatically increased after they replaced the door seals.

Aside from the inability to even do a half-quality job they left dirt stains and smudges on my steering wheel, almost like glue was left on it. Don't know what it is but it looks worn now. Also left some sort of grease/thick residue on the windows; only the tops.

I noticed yesterday a spot of paint on the rear seat--guess what color! Yup the same color they used to finish my car.

Now they did clean the interior the second time, but they left water stains on the fabric and two new spots on the driver's seat near the headrest in addition to numerous scratches on the panel work and plastic areas where the car had maintenance performed.

I am so upset with the poor quality and false promises of quality. This is by far the worst place I have taken a car. I DO NOT recommend them. They are nice people but the work just does not even come close to cutting it.

Stay away from this place if you can.

Sad to say but they have ruined my new car. I am temped to pursue legal action if this is not resolved.

If your insurance company is picking up the bill for this, I would let them know what's going on. There my be something they can do. It doesn't sound like these people are professional enough to do a good job since they felt compelled to take lunch breaks in your car.
