Best Price Car Rental Informative - Bad Customer Service And Charged Without Being Notified
VANCOUVER, CALIFORNIA -- Me and my fiancee needed to rent a car for a week so I started searching for rental companies. They offered the lowest price and added extra mileage further impressing me so we booked with them. When we got to the office to pick the car up no one was their and had to wait about an hour to finally get the car and cleaned while we waited. We paid for insurance but were never informed/offered any extra coverage and when we returned the car with one rock chip in the windsheild which we notified them immediately.
They initally said there were no problems but we were charged an extra $350.00 from our credit card a later that month (23 days later) without any notice. We contacted the owner and he said that he didn't personally charge us and if it was him he would have contacted us therefore blaming one of his co-oworkers and not taking responsibiliy in which he blamed another co-worker earlier for not having the car ready when we wanted to pick up the car at the start of this nightmare car rental. He told us that the car needed to get the entire windsheild replaced because he was leasing the car and the leasing agency didn't want the rock chip repaired the normal way like everyone else would have treated it as such.
Our basic insurance in which we paid for didn't cover any glass or tire damage and covered any other larger damage up to $500.00 which was the deductable. I understand that the insurance wasn't covering the damage but we feel duped because they were trying to charge us without notification and we would have at least were aware of any other charges if there was someone there when we dropped off the vehicle to inspect it like every other reputable car rental business. Next time we will not even think about supporting a local company but instead support the larger fleet car rental agencies since they know what customer service is all about.
