Cox Communications Inc Informative - High Speed "AINT SO HIGH"
WARWICK, RHODE ISLAND -- Downloading a demo game from NVIDIA.Com about 2 days after I got the service I was amased. When I tried to download that same game with dial-up the aprox time was sometingthing like a couple of hours. Well I downloaded that game in about 10 minutes with Cox and it was in the 600kb+/sec area. Im into online multiplayer games and have been kicked off a few servers lately because of a high ping(slow connection speed.) I couldn't understand or believe it until I went to download a game demo and when I saw the KB/SEC just sink B 4 my eyes I was more that unhappy.
Im not a dumby when it comes to my computer and I know it's not me,my computer or any programs that are the problem.Everything they suggest in the tech support I have done long B4 reading it.
I scandisk daily, defrag at least 3-4 times weekly, tons of memory, changed from USB 2.0 to Ethernet and back again even changing new cables with new cables and yes my temporary internet folder is emptied everyday, cookies and all.
No background running programs for this guy either. Before running any games or downloading anything I (ctrl-alt-del) and close everything except the 2 or 3 I need to run things.
Whats going on COX? what are you doing out there? .It was great for a week or two and now things are as slow as my dial-up was.I mean yea I don't have to wait for the modem to dial a connection but that's not why I got you. I didn't mind the dial up, it was the studder and slow speeds to web sites and gaming servers I couldn't stand and Im back in that saddle again.
100 x faster than dial-up? only on the initial connection and thats IT.the rest of the connection is right back to the dial up days.
WHY WHY WHY????????
