Pro-Keys Discount Locksmiths Complaint - Overcharged/Deceitful Practices

Review by mmterp65 on 2008-09-20
ILLINOIS -- I locked my key in my car and when I called to get a quote they said it would cost, "$55 to $89." After coming out and opening my door they charged me $139. They said to was $55 to come out there and $89 to open the door.

I think this is extremely deceitful.

I agree. It was highly deceitful, especially since these figures don't quite add up. I'd have shown them! Would have sent them away and sat on the ground until the police towed me away.

I'm curious how long it took him to get the door open. The $55 sounds fair for a trip charge, but $89 is a bit high for a simple 5 minute pick job. Of course, the whole presentation of the quote was misleading on purpose as well. Two thumbs down Pro-keys.

Pro-Keys must have gotten this swell idea from a local plumbing company here where they charge $75.00 to come to your home and extra if they walk in the back door. Thanks for the heads up.
