Verizon Complaint - Verizon's Specious Business Practices
FLORENCE, ARIZONA -- I was a satisfied customer, of Verizon, for more than 4 years. I was never late paying my bill, in fact it was paid early each month. I was living in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, and the service was excellent. I had a cell phone with nation wide coverage, and a PCMCIA broad band laptop card with unlimited usage, also with nation wide coverage. Then I bought a house in Florence AZ. about 80 miles S.E. of Phoenix. Now neither my phone nor my computer would work inside the house. I notified Verizon that I could not work inside my house, using the wireless laptop card. They informed me that as long as I could go out side the house and get a signal, albeit weak, and not usable for computing, that was the extent of their liability.
I had asked for early termination, of the computer wireless card, but I told them I would use my home phone for calls, and keep the cell number for when I was away from home. They turned from the helpful advertisements shown on TV, into rude business Frankensteins. I would have to pay $160.00 early termination fee, for THEIR INABILITY to provide usable wireless broadband service, at my new location. There was no debate, it was MY problem, not theirs. So, I paid the $160.00 early termination fee, for a service they were both unable, and uninterested in fixing.
To that end, my family, at the time, of my problems, had 10 separate cell phone contracts, and 4 wireless computer contracts. We(my family) are, as the contracts expire, changing services. I have terminated my computer wireless broadband contract, another family member has renewed their cell phone with another company.
So, for Verizon's intransigence, they will lose all of my family's business and, any other people we can persuade, not to do business with Verizon. The "can you hear me now" is a valid point(as now from my new location.. I can hear no one, not even them, and the reason they show so many Verizon employees in their commercials, is for protecting each other from irate customers. Remember if you read the fine print, it will say they DON'T guarantee service inside your house, only to your property line outside! You can read other more detailed facts at E-Opinion. Verizon's advertisements are specious at best, and lies about other points.
My advice, after four years as a good customer paying my bill in full, and early, counted for NOTHING. STAY AWAY FROM THOSE LYING MONEY GRUBBERS. THE TRUE FACTS ARE, VERIZON CARES ONLY ABOUT YOUR MONEY...NEVER ABOUT YOU!
