DHL Complaint - Next Business Day Is Subjective
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I purchased two laptops to be shipped to my job by 3pm the next business day. One of the packages left Dell on 9.19.08, scheduled for an arrival of 9.21.08 because of the weekend. The other shipped on 9.22.08 for an arrival of 9.23.08 by 3pm. I have yet to receive either package (It's 5:30PM 9.23.08).
I called DHL's center center several times after 3pm on 9.22.08 to inquiry about the first package. I was told the driver was running 30 minutes behind but he would surely deliver my package before 5pm. At 5:30pm I called again. This time I was told I would be called back within 1 hour. I was never called back and I waited around until 7pm.
Today (09.23.08) -- more of the same. The 2 packages never arrived by 3pm. I called and I was told that the package would arrive and I would be called within an hour. I called back when I didn't get a callback and I was told that I called back too early. They were right, I called back 4 minutes before the hour. I gave them an additional 10 minutes and called back. I was told that someone would contact me to tell me that they are unable to get a hold of the driver. WTF! I paid $90 (combined) to make sure I get my packages the next day and I'm basically told, just deal with it? I finally received a call and they indeed informed me that they were unable to get a hold of the driver. I complained and was told I would be called back in another hour. For what, to be told the driver is home having dinner, using my laptops to balance his coffee table?
Bottom line: That hour has come and gone... I have no packages, and I paid for rush shipping to have my stuff when DHL decides it's a good time.
