Sovereign Bank Complaint - Not giving a customer proper notice
ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- I have a premier checking account with Sovereign Bank. They tell me they sent out a notice in the June Statements to all customers about the changes that would go into affect on September 15th. The changes would be that if your account would go in the negative balance on any outstanding check you would pay $20 for each transaction.
They did not send out any red flag. They did not call me to tell me of any changes. They did not repeat the message in the July, or August statements so the chance of seeing the message would be greater. They said legally they did everything right. 90 days is what the law says to do. They did not send an email, or say it loud on their website. Why would they go above and beyond the small print. It's not in the best interest of Sovereign Bank.
I say "It's not in the best interest of the customer."
Shame on Sovereign Bank for making this a money making scheme.
My suggestion to you is to find a honest bank to do your business.Not a bank that's withdrawing your hard earned money.
