Alibaba and kicks-trade.com in China Complaint - The company sends you the wrong thing and refuse to answer your e-mails when you try to contact them

Review by RJTY on 2008-09-26
I placed an order, via the Internet, with the company Kicks-trade.com, who is affiliated with Alibaba. These companies are in China. I requested a quotation and in an instant I got a respond from them. The person who contacted me was [snip] and her e-mail address is lucy@kickstrade.com. She gave me the website to search for the items that I wanted to purchase and told me to forward the information to her. I did as I was told and sent the information to her. She stated in the e-mail that "Your satisfaction is our top priority". She gave me the information to send money to them via Western Union to MEIZHU WU, QINGDAO JULI ARTS & CRAFT CO. LTD., QINGDAO CITY, SHANGDONG PROVINCE, CHINA.

The Money was sent and they sent me the tracking information for the products that I ordered. When I received the package I realized that I was sent something totally different from what I ordered. I ordered 2 Lace Wigs, one cost $108.00 US and the other cost $86.00 US. The items they sent were 2 synthetic whole wigs and the cost for them, according to their website, is $35.00 US each. Not only did they send me the wrong items, but the items value far less that the ones I ordered. From the day I received the package, which was in August 19th, 2008, I've been trying to contact them via e-mail and they refuse to answer my e-mails.

At first I thought it was just a simple mistake that they could easily correct but because they wouldn't answer me I now know that this scam was intentional. I even had the opportunity to contact [snip] through the Instant Messenger and when I started to explain the situation to her she never answered and then she block me from her Instant Messenger Contact list so that I could no longer contact her. Since this incident, I've made contact with this company telling them that I was interested in ordering their products they answered those e-mails but when I start to tell them about the problem I have they refuse answer.

This is unfair to consumers and it causes us to fear doing business online. If you can send your hard earned money to companies in China just to have them pull a scam like this on you and then refuse to offer assistance when you try to contact them is really unfair. I wish there was a penalty for these companies so that they can stop committing these crimes. I've heard about 15 other cases similar to my own concerning companies in China.

All I want is my money or the items that I actually ordered.

signed: Disappointed

I have every e-mail between this company and myself saved to my computer as well as the instant messenger conversation with [snip].

I wouldn't send my money to a company based in China (or any other country), it would be too easy for them to pull a scam, like it's obvious they are doing to you. If I needed a wig for something, I bet I could find what I needed right here.

to bad you had this experience. oriential wigs are some of the best. i can see why you wanted to try them, lace wigs purchased locally in the usa can cost from 350$ and up.
