America Online Complaint - AOL /Verizon DSL subscription
INDIANA -- I'd like to take the time to voice my complaint about the quality of the AOL/Verizon DSL service that I've been subjected to. I use the term 'subjected',rather than 'tolerated or put up with' because under the one year contract that I've been..'subject' to,If I don't continue the DSL/scam service, I would have to pay an additional $100.00 for the cheap and very crappy Actiontec brand DSL modem that was included in the package. First of all, the only reason I've subscribed to AOL in the first place was because I work for a major automotive company, and recieve a $3.00 per mo. rate for their 56K dial up rate, VS. $23.00 per mo. I had a bad experience with AOL back in 1999 when I tried out their service using one of their Cd's. I was a new computer user then, but got very savy..very quickly, when I received a phone bill for $625.00 for the long distance surcharges for that one month!(at that time, the closest connection point was 50 mi. away) I paid the bill and shrugged it off. I also shrugged off AOL as a company I would ever do business with again. I should've kept my corporate 56K dial up account and never have signed onto the DSL account. Since I've had the DSL package,my connection speed has been substantially less than normal 56K speed and I'm constantly being 'bumped off line'. I've never liked using the AOL browser,so I always use the IE browser. It would seem that the speed drops once I use IE. I've heard a few horror stories about people having a difficult time stopping AOL from billing them. I've been paying $31.00 per month for this DSL 'dis-service',and was foolish enough to try their new 9.0 broadband optimized version(if you're into constant IM messenges from people advertising their latest sex-based website,by all means you've found a winner, lol) I can put up with alot, and have put up with too much from this company. America online?..no!...it's more like 'Anguish online'.
