Starbucks Complaint - Handling of investigation of laptop theft at a Starbucks store
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- This review relates to Starbucks' handling of the theft of a customer's (i.e. my) laptop from their facility in downtown San Diego. One would think that Starbucks would like to reduce the number of such incidents by cooperating with the police in solving them. But the trend as I see it is for the nice pleasant tables ideal for studying in their facilities to become magnets for laptop thieves since Starbucks has figured out that it's your problem if your laptop gets stolen, not theirs. Therefore they will not go out of their way to try to help the police find the thief in such incidents.
They wouldn't even give me a telephone number for the local (San Diego) police to call so whoever calls from the police department would not have to wait 20 minutes (as I had to do) to get through to a human at the idyllic Seattle headquarters.
