Verizon Wireless Informative - No contract no help
WEST COAST, OREGON -- My contract with Verizon ran out about 10 months ago. About 6 months ago, I dropped my cell phone in water and that was the end of it. I had it replaced under the insurance (which I don't recomend!) and for $50 they sent me a used phone! I was upset! I cancelled my insurance (had already paid more than $50 into it + $50 for the used replacement = bad investment choice!!! Anyways, a short while later, I bought a motorola timeport 270 (CRAP PHONE, had to return 2) which had a 1 year warranty.
Just recently it refused to take a charge (bad connector, bad design) so I went to my local dealor where I signed up and tried to get a warranty replacement. They said Verizon would replace it! And the fun begins!
1st call: they said [Veriszon Rep]:"phone is on the way". week later, no phone!
Call 2: Refering to first phone, my original flip phone I signed up with that was dropped in water, [Verizon Rep]"You are no longer under warranty". Mangaed to get that straightened out! [Verizon Rep]"phone on the way". Several days later no phone!
Call 3 (for tracking): Where's my phone? [Verizon Rep]:"Sorry to inform you that it is on back order with no idea as to when available". "New phone if you sign up for a new contract". No! don't want a new cotnract! Where is my phone? Why am I paying for what I am not getting? Let's talk to a supervisor!" [Supervisor]:"Sorry, back order, new, phone, new , contract".
NO! NEW PHONE and NO NEW CONTRACT or cancel me! [Supervisor]: "New Kyocera (or whatever) phone on the way, no new contract! have it Monday! Maybe Friday!"
Monday, no phone
Call 4: Where's phone?
[Verizon Rep] "Phone (Timeport 270) on backorder".
We negotiated for a new
Kyocera? Where is it?
[Verizon Rep]: "Nothing here in account info about this".
Let us talk to a Supervisor!
[Supervisor]: "No! New Kyocera, new contract! Timeport on backorder. No Kyocera in account info, Don't know what you are talking about".
I went home from dealor.
Call 5 No new phone? Cancel my account YOUR FIRED! I will go somewhere else! [Verizon Rep]:
"Wait, how can we keep your business?". I said "Get me a supervisor in 15 seconds or close my account!" 30 seconds
later [Supervisor]: "Timeport on backorder, new Kyocera, new contract!". I told him to cancel my account imediately and
that Verizon was fired! He obliged!
Call 6 I called Verison Corporate complaint line. Told them that my primary phone was my cell. I have been without it for 20 days. I have made numerous calls and proceeded to recount what I'd been thru. They said: "We will
forward this to a Rep that will call you back today.
Call 7 A nice woman called and I told her was going on vacation, without my primary phone, no way to contact my relatives over this Christmas (2 days away) and been without it for what amounts to 20 days. I told her that I would be ashamed of Verizon if it was me working for them! She told me that my phone was on back order and that and that if I signed a new contract I could get a new phone. I said that I could get a new contract with someone else and that I thought that after all I have been thru, that a new phone in 24 hours without a contract would be their only reprive. She declined, I told her that Verizon was fired, She said: "Verizon has the right to sell my number as early as tomorrow" and I said "sell it! YOUR FIRED!" and hung up on her.
Call 8 She called back and said "I can next day you a phone from 58 miles away with a new contract" I almost spewed! LOL!
I told her that I had lost confidence in Verizon and that they were fired and I would never do business with them again! I would
have a new phone by tomorrow thru Cellular one (most likely) activated by noon. I also told her that I was at the time on the
other line (at work) with the FCC because I was looking to file a complaint with as many agencies as I could. And I was on
the line with the FCC. I searched yahoo for Verizon + Complaints and found this site.
These converstions are the short versions of what transpired. What I have been thru with Verizon has caused me an extreme amount aggravation. I would recommend that under no circumstances should you ever do business with Verizon AT ALL!
