Troy Built Informative - Defective Part - RZT 50

Review by Bopper on 2008-10-02
TABOR CITY, NORTH CAROLINA -- The 2006 TroyBuilt RZT-50 and the 42 is a good machine until you want to change the Transmission Drive Pulley. There are instructions in the manual, and if the idler bracket was designed right the instructions would work, I believe. The Idler Bracket 3/8" square hole is in the wrong place. You CAN NOT get the 3/8" socket driver in the hole. Why, because the pulley overlaps the hole. Guess what, they know it. It will not work as advertised in the manual.

They wanted me to take it to a repair shop. As far as I'm concerned it does not month the yard now because the Transmission Drive Pulley has slipped off. They know of the problem. They redesigned it for the 2007 mowers. That new part will not work on the 2006 mowers. The Supervisor I talked to said we have no solution. Guess what Tim, you can design a tool that will give us the leverage to change the belt.

It really should not be that hard. Oh, wait, Why should I expect you to be able to design it??
