Ford Motor Informative - Leaking Transmission Lines
PENFIELD, NEW YORK -- First let me say I'm sorry for all the F250 buyers with the 5.4. I have had to replaced both Transmission lines that connect to the radiator of my 2005 F250 with 29000 miles on it. The incompetent design of the system as well as using steel tubing in the configuration in my opinion led to the premature rusting and perforation of the tubing and fittings into the radiator inlet and outlet. I found a work around after the idiots at the dealer told me Ford does not sell the connector fittings on the radiator.
"They" the ****blank Ford engineers said you have to replace the radiator if the fittings go bad.
Mind you the fittings are threaded and can be removed. This is another case where Ford is screwing its customers. This is only one of my complaints with regard to this POS Ford F250 and I feel sorry for all the other Northern Owners that will be screwed into a new radiator. One other note, as I was refilling the Tranny fluid I found out that the filler tube that runs along the right side of the engine had rusted and perforated leaving a puddle of transmission oil on the ground. Be aware...
The Ford dealers response..... So sorry! My response, No more Fords for me.
