Sears Informative - Sears Fails To Show Up For Repair Appointment
REDMON, WASHINGTON -- Our refrigerator stopped working on Friday. Saturday a.m. 10/3 my daughter called and scheduled an appointment with Sears for Wednesday 10/8, the soonest they had. The appointment was between 8 a.m. and noon. We called and verified the appointment the evening before.
My daughter took time off work from 8am to 2pm for the repair to occur. Although she waited at the house until 1:30 p.m. for the repair man to arrive, no one arrived and no one called. When she called to find out his estimated time of arrival. she was told that dispatch couldn't get a hold of him. She called again at 1:40, and was then told that our appointment had now been moved a week farther out, to October 15, 2008.
I called Sears and listened to the recording that told me our repair was scheduled for that day (10/8) between 8 and noon. I asked to speak with a supervisor, who then told me that we were MISTAKEN and out appointment never had been scheduled for today but actually was set for 10/15 all along! I explained that there were little children in the home and it was imperative that we had a working refrigerator, however he neither apologized for the Sears repair person not showing up nor did he attempt to reschedule to later today.
While I have always felt that Sears had top quality appliances, I have had nothing but difficulties with both my refrigerator and my dishwasher. Top that off with Sears sub-standard customer service, and I will never be purchasing another appliance from Sears again!
