Hertz Complaint - Filthy Vehicle - Ashamed To Drive It
ALBUQUERQUE (COORS & IRVING), NEW MEXICO -- On October 7, 2008, I was forced to obtain a rental car while mine is in the repair shop due to an accident. State Farm stuck me with HERTZ IN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO.
My gripe? Even though we are in the middle of The Albuquerque International Balloon Festival and cars are in short supply, one would expect the cars which are available to be CLEAN. Not immaculate, but not covered in MUD up to the level of the roof! It appears I expected too much; WAY too much!
Simply picture an off-road vehicle, having been out for a weekend of "mudding" and you have the exact picture of the Chevrolet Hertz presented to me; with NO apology. Rather, I was told, You are really lucky to get a car at all!"
The two young ladies at the counter appeared more interested in getting back to their conversation about their previous evenings "party fun" (WITH a description of the "guy who got me off three times", openly discussed! I am NOT a "moral crusader", and I am glad the young lady was "pleasured three times". However, I DID NOT NEED TO HEAR THE PARTICULARS!
Back to the FILTHY CAR. I was handed the keys, told the car had been inspected and there was no major damage. When I entered the car, I found candy wrappers, coke cans, McDonalds fries "boxes" (ON the seat, NOT on the floor!). In general, I have garbage cars which are cleaner than the car I given.
In spite of the bill being paid by State Farm Insurance, ANY care presented to a CUSTOMER should at least be clean! Hertz obviously does not look at business from the same point of view!
I am SO angry - and must still deal with these folks, I do NOT want to correspond in any manner with their home office. Thus, no reply to this complaint is necessary. I WILL handle contact with them, in my own way and time selection. It won't be pretty!
