NetZero Complaint - Bad Customer Service, Kept Billing After Service Terminated
I used NetZero's free internet service a while back. The deal was that they give you an e-mail address and ten hours of free dial-up a month. The actual technology they provided was fine; the problem had more to do with their service.
NZ uses call centers which sound like they're based in India. Many of the CSR's were extremely difficult to understand and/or couldn't understand me. Also, for the six or seven times I had to call them, hold times usually exceeded a half an hour.
After using the free service for a while, I upgraded to one of their pay services, which allows more storage space for e-mail. Eventually, I decided to cancel and revert to the free service. Unfortunately, NZ kept billing me even after I got a hard-won cancel confirmation number. It took over a year before they finally stopped billing my card. They even billed it after it expired by guessing at a new expiration date.
I recommend against using NetZero.
