College Bound Movers Informative - Destroyed Our Walls/Floors And Furniture...
LITCHFIELD, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- We used College Bound movers on 8/14/08 and it was a disaster for many reasons. The move took many more hours than quoted, but the worst part was they didn’t wrap our furniture and they couldn’t fit it in their small trucks – so they crammed our stuff in their trucks which led to damage to most of our furniture. Almost every piece of furniture has scratches and gouges on it. They dropped our Wash Machine on the granite steps outside our new home. They laid the back of my unwrapped sofa down on the garage slab because they couldn’t fit it thru the door. They were short staffed on move in day and left our house without the move being complete. They could not put our beds together because they forgot their tools.
The wash machine fell because they only had 2 guys when we were quoted for 3, and they forgot the pullies and ties to help move the washing machine. Plus, when they were moving the stuff into our brand new construction home, they damaged our walls, the door frames and well over 50 spots. The upstairs hallway and door frames have numerous scratches and gouges. Numerous items have white paint on it from hitting the door frames. They left us at 9:30 at night with a bureau in the middle of my baby’s doorway, beds not put together, my kitchen table was taken apart to fit on the truck – that was still left in pieces. Our patio table was in pieces, and our wash machine was in the garage all dented, they couldn’t get it upstairs to the laundry room.
The next day when we woke up, we saw all the scratches and gouges all over our furniture. I saw one mover carry our heavy TV out of our home by himself, I couldn’t believe it – it is a very heavy TV. Well, not I know how he did it; he dragged our TV off of our armoire, as now it has well over 50 gouges and scratches. Not to mention that they smoked throughout the day of move out day, which made them slower, they even smoke while they moved our stuff. None of our stuff was wrapped properly and they had to keep cramming the stuff in the trucks which caused all that damage. Also one of the movers stayed in the truck the entire day (move out day) talking on his cell phone.
My husband said he was on the phone about 20 different times, we think with a girlfriend or something of a personal nature. They owe us over $3700.00 in damage and will not pay. They said they were sending us a check over a month ago. Beware.
