Camelback VW, Phoenix AZ Complaint - Very Poor Service - Sales

Review by Ren W on 2008-10-11
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- I'm a VW owner. While having my car in to be serviced, I decided to explore options for an upgrade. I was quickly greeted by a young, new salesman. I would have no problem with this if he knew his stuff, but A) knew VERY little about the cars and B) was unable to answer questions regarding my options for trading in my current VW for a new one.....then it got worse.

I had two specific cars in mind. The salesperson and his manager steered me to cars I did not have an interest in, setting up test drives in two cars that were not ones I would have considered buying...even though I kept saying this wasn't what I was interested in. After THREE HOURS of not getting the information I was asking for I finally left. The sales manager phoned me later in the day and offered me a deal on a used car they had on the lot. I felt like I was "marked" as someone they planned to dump some car they couldn't sell on. They were VERY unhelpful and I would never purchase a car there.

They should be embarrassed at the poor customer service, and lack of general salesmanship they demonstrate. I adore VW and will always drive one but will never give them my business, and I encourage others not to either.

whenever i have purchased a new vehicle, if they treat me poorly, i simply say no thank you, and leave. well before 3 hours was up.

The next time I buy a new car, I will do a lot of research, and then I will buy online. I know people who have done this and the deed is done in like 45 minutes or less.
