Hoover Company Informative - Hoover WindTunnel Bagless
I finally had to get a vacuum and waltzed into K-Marts three or four weeks ago and selected the Hoover WindTunnel Bagless model U5753-900. The price was $169.00 but on the box was a sale price of $144.00. That suited me fine, I like a bargain. The lady who helped me load the box onto the cart scanned it and told me it was $119.00 plus tax. Gosh, an additional unmarked sale price. I was really proud of my fortunate luck.
I thought I might get some spare parts if needed and glanced around, none in the store. I checked around, not very hard, for the next week and decided I'd order some online and be prepared for a rainy day. I proceeded to order 2 Long Life HEPA filters, 5 packs of belts (not realizing 2 came to a pack and knowing rubber rots), 1 pack of 2 each final filters and 1 pack of 2 each of secondary filters for a total cost of $89.35, but I'm ready for any unexpected surprise.
I'm telling you this vacuum cleaner will suck the fleas off a dog. I do want members to be aware I don't see any advantage to a bagless model. Some will state they want to see what is picked up. Me? Forget it. I looked like my grandmother emptying her old cloth bagged vacuum. One chamber for whatever the other containing the HEPA filter. You will not be able to gently tap the HEPA filter to clean. Nope, grab a old toothbrush to clean the pleats and you best be outside while you're at it.
Thus far I'm pleased with the cleaning capability but the mess makes me wonder if we are going backward rather than forward. My grandmother would have rolled her eyes at the progress from the old cloth bag to the bagless.
