DirecTV Inc Complaint - Warning - Do Not Sign Up With DirecTV
NORTH CAROLINA -- I called and requested DirectTV. I was not told that if I was dis-satisfied with the service that I could not cancel unless I paid a fine, so I did not know that I would have to pay over $300 to have my service disconnected - and this was within the first week of service. The remote they provided did not work and they said they would charge me to send a service man out to try to program it and never guaranteed that he could program the remote. There were hidden charges they did not mention when I requested the service.
I used to have Dish Satellite and they were the best service. I went with DirectTv because they were offering a special to new customers. Now I wish I had stayed with Dish Satellite because I had no issues with them for years. Every time I called customer service, I got a different answer to my same problem. I finally became so aggravated w/DirectTV that I cancelled my service and now I will be billed for the penalty of canceling service early. If I am dis-satisfied within the first 2 weeks of receiving a service, I should have the right to cancel my service and not be penalized - especially when I never signed any contract so I couldn't see before me what I was getting in to.
I don't have the money to pay for the disconnection, but I can't keep paying them each month and hating their service, remote and employees. I'm telling everyone about my bad experience with this company - I hope people read my complaint before making the same mistake I made.
