Grant Brokers Informative - Scam! - Financial

Review by Hello! on 2008-10-19
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- In mid-October 2008, I received a letter in the mail, and check from a "grant broker" with the Grant Organization. Seems that he had negotiated a grant for me of $9,740.00. Enclosed with the letter was a check for $4,870.00 that I was supposed to "deposit/cash" and then send him a "commission" of $974.00. He would then send me the other 1/2 of my "grant" ($4,870.00).

I have reported this scam to the U.S. Postal Service 1-877-876-2455 (press #3 for fraud investigations or www.PostalInspectors.uspis.gov, and to the Attorney General's office, Fraud Division, in my State.

Please do the same if you reveive such a letter!
