College Avenue Baptist Church Complaint - Not The Price Advertised

Review by Del507300 on 2008-10-21
LENOIR, NORTH CAROLINA -- I visited the Staples store in Lenoir, NC to purchase a new office chair. I sat in several chairs before I made a choice. The sale price on the chair I chose was $139. The chair, according to the attached sign, was originally $169. The chair had to be assembled and I was given the choice of paying for the chair then or paying when the chair was picked up. I chose to pay at the time of pick-up. To my surprise when I went to pick up the chair, the price had risen to $199. It wasn't my fault the chair had been assembled before I could pick it up. Nobody told me the price would increase, it just did.

To me this is deceitful. Selling merchandise for a different price than advertised is dishonest. Good way to lose a faithful customer's business, which they have.

shouldn't Staples be the topic of this complaint?

Another disenchanted customer because of their own ignorance.
How do you think that someone here is going to sympathize with you when you can't be detail oriented to see that you typed in your CHURCH as opposed to STAPLES?! (NH)

The devil is in the details!

I've never known assembly to be included on these type of purchases. It doesn't sound like Staples made it clear though in this case.

I really don't think you should be complaining about the Baptist church. While they are not my cup of tea, they have nothing to do with your problem.
