Rydell Chevrolet Northridge Complaint - Over All Poor Service
NORTHRIDGE, ILLINOIS -- December 2006 my wife gave me a Brand new 2007 Corvette Coupe, beautiful car dream car for me my whole life, first they give her a poor quality sales person by the way she paid cash she asked for it to be delivered to the house with a red bow on it and leave well he didn't I happened to see him in the st. trying to get the bow on then he had no ride back and asked if we would take him ok not unreasonable but the car is a two seater to say the least it was uncomfortable. By 02/2007 the alternator gos out it took all day for service to replace the problem after I had pointed out the very loud grinding noise coming from the engine in this time I had still not received any plates or registration papers Pink slip this is my car asked what was up and they told me that they should be in the mail, by 6-15-07 they AC was not working properly.
Hot Air was blowing only I'm very busy like the rest of the world and don't always have a convenient time to run to the dealer so by middle of July its to much and I have to take it in they did a total check on the system and realized it had no freon they assumed it never did put freon in supposedly checked the system and told me I was good to go and a ls at ever time I would see them they would ask to fill out their satisfaction request with 100% satisfaction or they don't get paid this gos all the way back to the original salesman asking to please overlook his mistakes and give him a 100% satisfaction response or he doesn't get his commission, well to bad, they haven't earned it still no license plates and they gentleman that was working on it is no longer their.
Great start all over after a week of not using the car I plan a trip up the coast with my wife and sure enough no AC well luckily we were on the coast and I returned the car about a week later and lost another day this time they have it for 4 days taking everything apart to get to the leak in the line that is under the manifold this makes me very uncomfortable as you can imagine new car less the 5000 miles and their taking the top[ of the engine off, When I get it back it ok but I don't feel like giving them a satisfactory report let alone a totally satisfied report so they give face oh well Still no plates or paper work, I call the consumer Hot line and report the trouble they listen but do nothing it seems you have to have the same problem 3 times before they will respond.
The car has less than 12015 miles on it now and thy brakes are down to almost metal, the window on the drivers side closes on the out side of the weather striping second time Ive had it in for this problem the front left tire has a bubble on the side wall and they say its not a defect and I need two brand new tires, These are not cheap tires to replace, need wheel alignment of course they cant fix the weather striping in the back window so they have to bring in a glass co. The floor mats had come apart from the connection after the first car wash I was very upset over that and assumed it was the guy doing the wash now I see it is a ver poor design I needed this car for a business trip to Phoenix last week and because they needed the glass people to do their work They kept the car for the weekend Monday was the trip I couldn't wait so I went to pick up the car on Sun.
My latest invoice states very clearly that service is open SAT and Sun from 8am to 6pm so I drag the wife with me to get the car and service dept is closed the sales manager claims that they have stopped service on sun but have failed to change the paper work the same guy who lost track of all my paper work and needed to resubmit everything to dmv again we are not happy and leave to go to phoenix and don't get back until wed now they want $1900
