Hayes Electrical, Bellingham, MA Complaint - Bad Home Electrical Serviceman/Businessman
BELLINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS -- In the beginning, the contractor who is the Owner, showed up with another serviceman in a timely manner. We had a few different things he was asked to do our house. He seemed to do the job ok, but we wanted to use particular lighting we for undermount cabinets in the kitchen. I offered him the instructions for the lights he would be installing. He,(owner) said he did not need them now, he for some reason thought he had to remind us "he was an electrician and he went to school for so many years and that he knew what he was doing".
Part of the job was complete and he needed to come back another day, but in the mean time there was a wiring problem. He had to come back because of telephone wiring he screwed up and when he arrived, he blamed it on the phone company. When the phone repair man was able to PROVE it was because of the electrician's work, he wanted to put off fixing the problem for another day. That was totally unacceptable and I let him know it. He came out promptly, fixed the problem and left. The serviceman from the phone company even made comment out about how arrogant the electrician was. At that point we decided not to use his services any longer. Let me state that the Owner was also paid for his services up to that point.
He called later that evening wanting to speak to my husband. I informed him he was out to dinner with his 90 yr old mother. I would have my husband call him. He called my husband on his cell phone while he was at dinner with his mother. After a few days of not returning his calls, we thought he would have gotten the point that we were no longer going to call him back to complete the job. He called 5 times in one morning, before 9am, then showed up at our house. I told him we no longer wanted his services. He said he would wait to talk to my husband. I informed him my husband was in the shower and he was not going to speak with him. He said he would wait. I flat out told him to leave the property.
He actually had the nerve to refused and I told him I'd get my big dog, if he didn't leave. He did in fact leave. In a nutshell, he is very arrogant. He's did not want to listen to the needs and concerns of the customer. As far as I am concerned I wouldn't call him if he were the LAST ELECTRICIAN in the state of Massachusetts.
