Circuit City Informative - Service (or lack thereof)
NEW YORK -- I purchased my camera in July of 2005, with an extended warranty that expires in July 2009. I recently sent the camera in for repair, as the lens would no longer retract. It had worked perfectly fine on Saturday when I used it and uploaded pics to my computer. On Sunday, when I used it to take pictures, it crapped out. I contacted the warranty people for repair and they gave me the info to send it in. Donovan, the gentleman who assisted me, asked if it had been dropped, and I told him honestly that it had NOT been dropped - nothing had happened to cause it to stop working. I received a phone call this past Thursday that they would not repair it, as they claim it had received impact. This is completely bogus - and regardless, I was told at the time of purchase by the store associate that damage was covered, a selling point to me as a consumer.
At this point, I am very irritated with Circuit City's warranty program for accusing me of damaging the camera, when indeed, this is not the case!!
