Nike Complaint - Poor Quality Product
I have been a long time user of Nike Air shoes. I have to say that they are generally a well engineered and comfortable shoe providing plenty of foot protection.
However, it is clear that there are PROBLEMS in the manufacturing process. I once bought a pair of supposedly 'washable' Nike shoes from an outlet store. Although the shoes claimed to be able to survive a wash cycle in a washing machine (I never attempted this), actually the soles peeled off the first time I stepped in a puddle. This could only have been caused by inadequate or inappropriate glueing during manufacture.
Thinking that this was a freak occurrence isolated to a single batch or model of shoe, I continued to stick with the brand. However, recently I purchased a pair of top of the line Nike Air shoes from a specialist shoe store. Within a few weeks of use in dry conditions, the rubber outer sole had de-laminated from the foam layer. It was obvious from inspection that a large part of the sole had insufficient glue applied during manufacture.
Two pairs of Nike shoes bought at different times and places with the same result. A particularly damning fact is that no other brand of shoe I've ever owned other than Nike has ever had such a problem, yet the Nike shoes were amongst the most expensive. Shan't buy them in future!
By the way, the hardest wearing shoes I ever owned were a pair of Adidas "Marathon Trainers". These clocked up around 10,000kms of jogging over a 2 year period before wearing the soles out.
