Comcast Corporation Complaint - Billing and Customer Service
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- When Comcast came to Pittsburgh after purchasing AT&T Broadband(Formally TCI), they advertised that this is not cable, this is Comcast. Earlier this year, I rented a place of my own, and since I hate satellite, I got Comcast. Right off the bat, they screwed up my order. I told the agent that I wanted cable run to the bedrooms as well but when the technician arrived, he stated he could not run the cable to the bedrooms since it was not listed on the work order.
The technician was a 3rd party so I called Comcast while this technician was there, and they told me that they would call the 3rd party. While the technician was there, he received a call from his boss who told him he would sent another tech. The other tech didn't arrive for 3 hours and by the time he did, the first tech left.
The second tech was high on something because his eyes were glassy, and he could not walk in a straight line. Ths tech left without doing any work, and we had to wait almost 2 weeks before they came out to install the cable in the bedroom. They drilled holes on the outside of the complex even though the landlord specifically told them to run all cable from the basement up. They also left the cable just laying in the room as a tripping hazard.
Another 2 weeks passed before two other technicians came out and redid the cable from the basement, but they als left the cable as a tripping hazard. I had to wait another 2 weeks before another tech showed up to run all the cable along the baseboard and tack it down so it would not be a tripping hazard.
After writing a letter to [snip], I got a call from someone who was willing to give me my first month free. This really did not make up for the botched job in the 1st place, but I guess Comcast cannot go back in time to make sure it never happened. But now, I am have another issue with them, about 4 or 5 months ago, they switched me from a paper bill to a electronic bill without my concent or knowledge.
Due to this, I got a month behind on my bill. I am on a budget, so I can't just pay the entire bill at once after they hit me with two months worth of service on one bill, and late fee on top of that. I have spoke to numerous customer service agents, all of which are not willing to help. They state that unless I pay the whole bill, I will continue to get charged a late fee. I am now one month behind on every bill I receive, and am getting charged a late fee of at least 6.00 every month. It was not my fault that I never received a bill, so why should I have to continue to pay a late fee for it. They should just credit me the month I am behind on since it was there fault so I stop receiving late fees. I am to the point where I cannot wait until FiOS is available because Comcast is definitely no better than AT&T or TCI.
