Citizens Bank Informative - Citizens Bank Not Your Typical Bank
AMESBURY, MASSACHUSETTS -- Months ago I decided I did not want to be a customer of Citizens bank for the simple fact that I did not have a drive thru in my area. Getting out of the car and going into the bank during snowy or rainy days isn't always my thing.
I moved back to my old town and re-opened a account at my old bank that I always been happy with.
I went to citizens to close my account and the girl said I can't close it. It has to be inactive for so many days before doing so. Then after that I can close it but can't check or look at the account because it will be re-activated again.
So I called Planet fitness and tolled them to switch my bank account info so they don't take the money out of the Citizens bank. That was fine.
SO..... there was a over draft fee on my account. I payed it. Then started to think I should call them. I called and tolled the lady I want the account frozen I don't want anything coming or going in or out on the account. She said okay, it is all set.
Later on.... there are still over draft fees etc. I went to the bank there were three girls there all talking etc. After 5 minutes they ask can I help you. When I tolled them what I needed help with she said have a seat. After 20 minutes (the bank was not busy) I ask again for help I was tolled to have a seat. I ended up just leaving because I was sitting there for so long.
I am so mad at them. I want the account closed, I want nothing to do with the bank. Is that so hard?
I talked to a co-worker a few minutes ago and she was saying the same thing happen to her. She wanted to close a account with them and they kept charging it. She had to call the better business bureau before it was taking care of.
Why would a bank keep charging fee's for a account that has no money in it for months? Doesn't make sense to me. They are a horrible bank, horrible customer service.
