GM Pontiac Complaint - Engine noise scam
Complaint
As a consumer from your state, I felt it was my responsibility to bring to your attention the following incident.
Hello:
Im writing this with my concerns over being mislead about my 98 Pontiac Grand Prix .
I bought the car in June 2003 Within a few days of having it I noticed a noise coming from the engine .So I called the Pontiac dealership in Toledo and talked to the salesman that sold the car to me .
I also feel that this part shouldnt have been going out at 42k miles as this is very much mileage on this car.
I told I was hearing a noise and had a few minor problems . So I was told to just bring in and they would take care of it .So I take in after taking a half day off from work and when I get to dealership they tell me that they cant look at the car without getting a appointment .. So I set one hoping I could get that day off ,but couldn't so I missed it .
So I ended up letting the dealership in Findlay Ohio look at it outside and was told that the noise was outside the engine and not to worry that much ,but to get it checked as soon as I could ..Well i was told it sounded like a pully or something like that ..Which I wasn't overly concerned about something like that since I was told it wasnt that big of a deal ..Well the sound got worse several months later and I had the dealership look at it in Fostoria Ohio and was told it was the supercharger that was going bad at the tune of $3500.00 to replace ..I was shocked that this part would cost this much in the first place .. I called Pontiac Consumer hotline and explained my situation and said if I hadnt been told it wasnt a big deal by a GM dealership ..I would have made sure that it had gotten to the dealership at first sign of trouble..Well they refuse to fix the car even though they know I called Brown and told them about the noise ealier ..
As a resolution, I would like the following:
I want them to fix this car I feel I have been mislead the whole way about this situation .. I would even accept a new supercharger being sent to me and I would have this part put in by my brother which has the knowledge to fix the car if the part was provided ..

Oh, please! You bought a 5-year-old car. Things are gonna go wrong. Things are gonna have to be maintained/fixed. Idiot.
